Sometimes we all need a little getaway....

When we hear the word "getaway" we often think about out of town activities. Immediately, we're jumping on Kayak or Expedia for the quickest flight to a big city or cruises to a beautiful island. But what about home? A great vacation could be sitting underneath your nose and “yeen ain’t even realize”. Sometimes it's fun to bring out that ol tourist card and get a chance to enjoy your city. You could get a nice beach side Airbnb or stay at a luxury hotel with ALL the amenities on the coast(you can tell I live near the coast with these water references). If the beach isn't available in your area, what about the mountains, state parks or even a campsite? According to Wiki, apparently a staycation means taking part in an activity in your town and going home at the end of the day. To me that sounds like an outing versus a staycation(Boooo!). I describe a staycation as being a getaway in your area(no farther than 1 hr from home), taking part in activities and a stay at a hotel or an Airbnb. So next time, instead the norm, spend some coins close to home. Look on Groupon in your area for activities, festivals, attractions etc.

Happy Staycation!!

Let’s. Get. International.

I am not a travel connoisseur - yet, but we have fluffies in our empire that have quite a few stamps in their passports. On this day we’ll hear stories from fluffies and the cultural differences they’ve experienced. Here we’ll discuss tips like carrying your own towel because French hotel towels looks like an oversized washcloth (Umm yeah...I’ll take two, Monsieur). Or hearing that this 200 ft zip line is safe but not knowing if it’s “big girl safe”. The topics are endless but I guarantee you that they’ll be fun and informative. Where are you from? What’s the most memorable place you’ve traveled to? Share your story.
